Most all tourist that come to Costa Rica rent a car. Driving allows total freedom of movement and you can stop for sightseeing anywhere you like. Most major roads have improved noticeably in the last couple of years. We recommend that you do not have your rental car delivered until you leave San Jose. Driving in the capital is very challenging if you don't know the city. We also recommend to drive during daylight hours.

Local Flights:
If you want to get to your destination in less time, Local flights gets you there in minutes, flights in Costa Rica are around 20 min-50 minutes at the most to get from destination to destination.
