It's beautiful gardens and rustic accommodations, blend with the exuberant jungle vegetation, exotic birds and wildlife creating the perfect balance of nature. All the spacious and comfortable rooms are built in fine woods and are equipped with either 1 double and one single bed or three single beds. All feature a private bathroom with hot water and ceiling fans and offer tranquil garden views.

The Family style restaurant caters International and delicious local cuisine and a pool - whirlpool area surrounded by beautiful gardens where you can enjoy exotic tropical cocktails, are some of the facilities that you will find at the Lodge. Private nature trails featuring a open sky butterfly farm provide the opportunity to discover the different species of trees, palms trees, heliconias and many other plant species that abound in the Tropical Rainforest.
Every evening, we also present lectures on Tortuguero area at our conference room, where you will be able to learn more of the fantastic inhabitants |

of the National Park.For our guests enjoyment we recently added an entertainment / game room area that features pool table, darts, foosball and different table games for adults & children. Drinks including sodas, beer or juices are also available in this area. The Lodge also features a souvenir shop where you can find items of personal nature and local and Costa Rican souvenirs & crafts. |

On your free time, you might want to stroll by the pristine beach in front of the Lodge, sit on the sand to feel the magic of the ocean and admire this almost-endless loking palm lined beach.
Although, please be cautious because dangerous currents make the ocean in the area unsafe for swimming. |
We offer daily departure tour packages from San José. All you need to do is select your preferred length of stay and we will do the rest! Packages include round trip land & boat transportation, all meals during the trip, excursions in the area, lodging, government taxes and the services of a professional guide throughout the trip.

Turtle nesting tour: During turtle season from July to September, night tours to observe this wonder of nature are available. Tour starts at the beach in front of |
Mawamba Lodge and is lead by a local guide. Tour length is 2 hours. Please read the "Green Turtle" section in this site for more information.
Fishing: Fishing
is available in site, upon request and depending on weather conditions. Some of the fish species you can find in the fresh waters of the canals are small snook and tarpon, viejas, machacas, among others. The fishing tour includes for captain, boat for 2 fishermen, necessary equipment and tackle. Minimum fishing time: 02 hours. |
